The Government of Pakistan has recently approved the redesign of the national passport, a move that blends modern technology with cultural identity. The previous design, last updated in 2017, featured a plain green cover embossed with the national emblem and the words “Islamic Republic of Pakistan.” While it met the minimum security requirements with microprinting and lamination, it lacked advanced biometric features and modern aesthetics seen in global passports.
حکومتِ پاکستان نے حال ہی میں قومی پاسپورٹ کے نئے ڈیزائن کی منظوری دی ہے جو جدید ٹیکنالوجی اور ثقافتی شناخت کا حسین امتزاج ہے۔ پچھلا ڈیزائن، جو 2017 میں متعارف ہوا تھا، سادہ سبز رنگ کے کور کے ساتھ قومی نشان اور “اسلامی جمہوریہ پاکستان” کے الفاظ پر مشتمل تھا۔ اگرچہ اس میں بنیادی سکیورٹی فیچرز جیسے مائیکرو پرنٹنگ اور لیمنیشن شامل تھے، مگر عالمی معیار کے جدید بایومیٹرک اور خوبصورت ڈیزائن عناصر کی کمی تھی۔
The 2025 edition brings significant upgrades. The cover remains green but has a richer texture and a more detailed golden emblem. The bio data page will now include the mother’s name alongside the father’s, symbolising exclusivity and modernisation. New UV and infrared security layers, watermark designs, and embedded e-chip technology make it harder to forge and easier to verify internationally. These updates align Pakistan’s passport system with global standards of security and digital verification.
سو2025کے ایڈیشن میں نمایاں بہتریاں کی گئی ہیں۔ کور سبز ہی رہے گا لیکن اب اس میں نفاست اور سنہری نشان کی باریک کاریگری شامل ہے۔ بائیوڈیٹا صفحے پر اب ماں کا نام بھی والد کے نام کے ساتھ درج ہوگا جو شمولیت اور جدید سوچ کی علامت ہے۔ نئے UV اور انفراریڈ حفاظتی فیچرز، واٹرمارک ڈیزائنز اور ای-چِپ ٹیکنالوجی اسے جعلی بنانا تقریباً ناممکن بنا دیتے ہیں اور بین الاقوامی سطح پر آسان تصدیق ممکن بناتے ہیں۔
Inside, the visa pages now feature artistic illustrations of Pakistan’s heritage sites — including Minar-e-Pakistan, Faisal Mosque, Mohenjo-Daro, and Ziarat Residency — representing the nation’s unity in diversity. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has clarified that existing passports remain valid until expiry, and only newly issued ones will adopt the updated design. This initiative highlights Pakistan’s progress toward modern, secure, and culturally expressive travel documents.
اندرونی صفحات پر اب پاکستان کے تاریخی اور ثقافتی مقامات جیسے مینارِ پاکستان، فیصل مسجد، موہنجو دڑو اور زیارت ریذیڈنسی کی خوبصورت تصاویر شامل کی گئی ہیں جو قومی وحدت اور تنوع کی نمائندگی کرتی ہیں۔ ڈائریکٹوریٹ جنرل آف امیگریشن اینڈ پاسپورٹس کے مطابق پرانے پاسپورٹ اپنی مدت تک قابلِ استعمال رہیں گے جبکہ نئے پاسپورٹ میں یہ تازہ ڈیزائن شامل ہوگا۔ یہ قدم پاکستان کے جدید، محفوظ اور ثقافتی طور پر نمایاں سفری دستاویزات کی سمت ایک اہم پیش رفت ہے۔
